Bucharest, March 15 – Get ready for the 2nd edition of Bucharest Charity Fashion Show – the most glamorous charity event in Romania. With the mission of Uniting the World in the Spirit of Giving, BCFS is the only event that manages to bring together communities from 15 different countries to support an impactful social cause with the aim of changing disadvantaged people’s lives. More than 250 personalities will attend the event: businessmen, media and public figures, influencers, Presidential Administration representatives and top-ranking diplomats, including US Ambassador – H.E. Mr. Hans Klemm, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany – H.E. Mr. Cord Meier-Klodt, the Ambassador of South Korea – H.E. Mr. Kim Eun-Joong, the Ambassador of India, H.E. Mr. Valeri Kuzmin and Mr. Serge Rameau, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Madagascar.

H.E. Mr. Cord Meier-Klodt, the German Ambassador in Bucharest, said: “It will be a great pleasure to attend this impactful fundraising event that not only supports one of society’s most vulnerable groups, but also unifies a multicultural community in a common, noble goal. „Charity begins at home” as the saying goes, so I encourage each and every one of you to make your own personal contribution to the people in need that this philanthropic cause addresses. A single act of kindness will result in collective action that could save lives”, he added.

Together with Alin Galatescu as Artistic Director, the International Women’s Association and Fundatia Inovatii Sociale Regina Maria bring 6 top Romanian designers to the stage: Eli Laslean, Simona Semen, Diana Dianu, Aleha Toncea, Alexandra Calafeteanu and Svetlana Karahan.

They will present their newest collections and offer for auction original fashion pieces, as well as reinterpreted versions of the traditional costumes of participating countries. The show will be hosted by Teo Trandafir and closed by a parade of traditional costumes from around the world, a unique contribution by IWA.

During a month celebrating women, IWA and the Fundatia Inovatii Sociale Regina Maria join forces for the health of other women through a colorful and hopeful event with the ultimate goal of raising €100,000. You can get involved by buying a ticket to the Bucharest Charity Fashion Show.

BCFS was initiated in 2018 by three young visionaries: Ioana Tiriac, Gloria Muresan and Parsa Kanani and managed to raise the funds necessary to continue the Regina Maria Social Innovations Foundation project – Help a mother to rise again. As a result, the over 1200 destitute women registered at the Baba Novac Social Clinic received free medical treatment and services.

Fundatia Inovatii Sociale Regina Maria is an NGO that has been offering a wide range of free medical services for people without income and medical insurance for over 8 years. It cares for 160 children from underprivileged families in two educational centers (Clinceni and Baneasa), with the help of more than 15 paid and volunteer teachers.

The International Women’s Association of Bucharest (IWA) is an independent, voluntary, charitable, non-profit and apolitical organization. Founded in 1978, and a legal entity since 1999 with a membership of 58 nationalities, IWA promotes friendship, cultural exploration and charitable work.
